Light Novel ‘Urasekai Picnic’ Gets TV Anime Adaptation
A TV anime adaptation of Iori Miyazawa‘s sci-fi yuri light novel series Ura Sekai Picnic (Otherside Picnic) was announced by Hayakawa Shobo on Thursday.
Her first encounter with Toriko Nishina was on the Otherside after seeing “that thing” and nearly dying. Ever since that day, exhausted university student Sorawo Kamikoshi’s life changed. In this Otherworld, full of mystery, which exists alongside our own, dangerous beings like the Kunekune and Hasshaku-sama that are spoken of in real ghost stories appear. For research, for profit, and to find an important person, Toriko and Sorao set foot into the abnormal.

Miyazawa published the first volume in February 2017 with illustrations by shirikaba. Hayakawa Bunko shipped the fourth volume in December 2019. Eita Mizuno began serializing a manga adaptation in monthly Shounen Gangan magazine in February 2018. Square Enix will publish the fourth compiled volume on March 12.
J-Novel Club licensed the light novel in English last July for digital release. The third volume is planned for an April 12 release.
A one-minute promotional video was released on December 18 last year commemorating the release of the fourth volume. The video used a combination of both animation and live action footage
